Warm-weather travel
Warm-weather travel clothes that still look intentional
How to dress for heat without relying on sportswear or carrying a different outfit for every meal.
01
Choose shape before thinness
Very thin cloth can cling, turn transparent, and lose structure. A slightly fuller shirt or trouser in breathable fabric often feels cooler because it creates space around the body. Look for linen, open cotton weaves, tropical wool, and light seersucker with enough substance to recover after sitting.
02
Let evening changes be small
A collared shirt, lightweight trouser, and clean leather sandal or loafer can move from afternoon to dinner with little adjustment. The useful change may be as small as replacing a T-shirt or adding an unlined overshirt. This is easier than packing separate daytime and evening wardrobes.
03
Expect visible wear
Heat makes pristine clothes unrealistic. Choose colours and textures that still look good with a crease, and avoid materials that show every mark. Linen is useful partly because its wrinkles look natural. Pack a small laundry bag and plan one wash rather than adding duplicates for every day.
